Overview
|
This role shall take responsibility for Low Voltage electrical safety and quality in the compliant delivery of projects for the Balance of Plant department and support the wider business with Low Voltage technical support.

Position is responsible for: LV QHSE Electrical project delivery – planning, implementation monitoring and control
|

Main Duties
|
- Supervise electrical installation and maintenance activities
- Produce electrical written instructions for use by technicians (safe systems of work SSOW)
- Travel internationally to support global LV electrical work scopes / operations – as required
- Work closely with the department manager / site & project personnel to deliver and constantly improve service delivery of LV workscopes
- Develop internal processes and procedures to be utilized on LV work scopes
- Develop effective project planning and delivery mechanisms to support and comply with all local, regional, national and international standards / regulations as required.
- Creation of Standard Operating Procedures covering repeat, standard electrical tasks for use by technicians
- Select and approve appropriate electrical tooling and test equipment for use by technicians

Additional Responsibilities/Requirements

- Working offshore as required delivering and supervising LV work scopes.
|
Knowledge
|
- LV industrial electrical installations
- Circuit Design: Knowledge of designing and interpreting electrical circuits, including schematics and wiring diagrams.
- Safety Standards: Familiarity with safety regulations and standards, such as the IET Wiring Regulations (BS 7671) and health and safety practices to prevent electrical hazards.
- Installation Techniques: Proficiency in installing low voltage systems, including lighting, power distribution, and control systems.
- Testing and Inspection: Skills in testing and inspecting electrical installations to ensure they meet safety and performance standards.
- Troubleshooting: Ability to diagnose and repair faults in electrical systems, using tools like multimeters and oscilloscopes.
- Regulatory Compliance: Knowledge of relevant laws and regulations governing electrical work in the UK, including industry standards.
- Technical Documentation: Ability to read and produce technical documents, such as specifications, reports, and maintenance records.
- Communication Skills: Effective communication with clients, colleagues, and other stakeholders to ensure projects are completed to specifications.
- Continuous Learning: Staying updated with the latest advancements in electrical engineering and technology.
- Offshore renewable experience (construction and O&M) – Desirable but not required

Experience
|
- Working knowledge of renewable LV systems and working practices
- Working in a client facing role to effectively plan and deliver offshore renewable LV projects / workscopes
- Leading and coaching teams / individuals in safe delivery of LV workscopes
- Minimum of 3-5 years in a similar role
- Offshore experience desirable but not essential
- Working in line with and/or developing of inspection and test plans
- Undertaking, planning and execution of planned and corrective maintenance work scopes
- Troubleshooting of electrical systems to remedy faults

Qualifications / Certifications
|
Essential
- A full UK drivers' license
- NVQ Level 3 in electrical installation – or similar
- City & Guilds Authorised Person Electrical Low Voltage (APLV) – or similar
- Electrotechnical Certification Scheme – ECS Gold Card
|
Desirable
- IOSH Managing Safely – or similar
- SMSTS – Site Managers Safety Training Scheme / SSSTS – Site Supervisor Safety Training Scheme - or similar
- GWO basic safety trainings – or willing to undertake these trainings
- OGUK Medical + Chester Step Test
